Congratulations to the AI winners of Computing’s Technology Product Awards.

These Awards recognise the very best of the UK’s technology industry: from the most innovative and compelling products and vendors, through to the top projects by end-user firms. Uniquely in technology, these awards give end-users themselves the ability to have their say on the winner. At the end of the day, the entrant taking home the prize is the one who has most impressed Computing’s audience of skilled IT professionals.

The Technology Product Awards recognise the very best in technology talent. Awards range from focusing on security and cloud computing to business software and infrastructure, as well as showcasing the movers and shakers – the innovative technology heroes and projects that deserve industry-wide praise.

The Judging Process

Finalists are chosen on the basis of three criteria:

  • The entry is detailing something totally new, or has a new approach to an existing challenge
  • The entry demonstrates an outstanding understanding of their chosen field
  • The entry shows clear evidence of success, leadership and adoption

Categories

The awards cover over 15 categories – with 3 relating specifically to AI.

AI product of the year – Streetbees GO

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way we use and interact with technology, as well as the capabilities of that tech: from automating cybersecurity to detecting cancer cells. This winner of this category is a product making a substantial difference to peoples’ professional and/or personal lives.

Streetbees develops software that facilitates the collection of a variety of data from people who are paid small amounts for sharing aspects of their lives via photos, videos and text for the purposes of helping its clients understand new markets.

Streetbees GO helps companies identify which Covid consumer behaviours will stick.

Most innovative use of AI – Smart KYC

The technology industry keeps finding new ways to use AI: from threat detection and remediation, to scanning for cancer cells. This award is for a company that can demonstrate a truly industry-leading approach, which has changed the way that the business or a department operates.

SmartKYC develops AI software designed to provide KYC (know your customer) and AML (anti-money laundering) checks on potential clients, aimed at improving due diligence.

Best AI/ML provider – Seldon

AI and machine learning can help organisations to free staff up from repetitive tasks, or support their jobs in a new way. This award is for the firm that most impresses with its offering; innovation, functionality, market share and performance are all key to success.

Seldon is developing an open source machine learning technology that can be used by web developers to predict the behaviour of website users in order to provide product or content recommendations.
